there’s this guy that i’m friends with and i found out that he smokes weed and drinks. i realized this because he always seems high and his breath smell like weed. I also asked a lot of people if he did and they all said yes. how can i stop him?

Unless you can arrange an intervention with him ; he will probably continue on like he is ..move on to hard drugs and probably end up in Jail / Prison or Dead …..

Now: If he listens to you ; how about explaining to him that Weed can cause damage to the vessels in the testicles and penis ..even causing IMPOTENCE and /or the SHRINKING of the penis and /or testicles; the same as smoking tobacco products can …

Weed CAN casue a variety of mental illnesses and diseases including delusions and memory problems ….

The alcohol CAN cause mental issues, impotence , and a variety of other heart and kidney problems ….

This guy needs HELP and he needs it NOW ; before it get out of hand .. if it hasn't already …

I’m wondering if smoking cigarettes around my russian tortoise will give him immediate and or severe respiratory health issues. It wouldn’t be right in her face just the general vicinity.

it will have an effect on the air quality so may have an effect on any breathing thing, it could but it depends on how much smoke is in the room and if any windows are open, really you should limit the amount of smoke in the room so to avoid any problems

Hey,
How do you stop smoking once and for all? I am 14 and a smoker. so please anwser my questions how do you stop smoking for free.

Mind over matter.
You have to want to quit, then make an effort to not smoke. You'll probably have some withdrawal symptoms if you smoke often, but they don't last long.

If you need more help than your willpower can provide, then try doing a specific activity or hobby whenever you want to smoke… something creative. Eat a healthy snack, grab a puzzle magazine, play a game… do something you enjoy.

Try to stay away from any friends that smoke while you're quitting, as they will likely increase your cravings.
General things to detox the junk from your body will also help out. Drinking lots of water, eating more fruits and veggies (especially green foods because of the Chlorophyll), and you could try a bit of Apple Cider Vinegar, but it tastes pretty bad. Most other herbs that are good for detoxing are recommended for people 18 and older, so I won't list those as they may not be safe for you (maybe too powerful). Good luck!

I recently had a waitress tell me that she and her sister and her mother were all able to quit by using a new drug called Chantix, so you could try asking your doctor about that. It's the kind of thing you take initially and wean yourself off of in a couple months. She was very impressed with how well it worked for her… and obviously like most smokers she had tried many things in the past.
I'm hoping it will work for my dad, 'cuz he really needs to quit too.

Yes, that is one of the side effects of any of the smoking cessation aides that uses nicotine as the method to quit.

Try to think through the nausea or get a less strong patch.

Quit now!!!

This person has been smoking pot for 25 years on a regular basis. It has become who they are, it defines their personality. This is their 3rd day pot-free. What are we looking at emotionally and physically?
Is there anything that helps this transition?
We believe in the power of prayer. Other than that what can you do to make this easier?

Marijuana is not chemically addictive, so you are looking at purely psychological and emotional issues here. 25 years of use is a long time. Long term use like that usually leads to clinical depression. So in reality, most of what the person will be experiencing is the clinical depression.

Honestly, in my opinion the person should be seeing a doctor, preferably a mental health professional while going through this. Clinical depression is a real problem that may needs other meds to be corrected. Its even possible that over the years he was already depressed and self medicating with the marijuana (even if the person didnt know that, its possible). However, marijuana only works short term for that, and long term actually causes worse depression. Now that they dont have the marijuana, the depression symptoms may start croping up, if they havent already. Even if the person doesnt need meds, a professional can help them work through this period of time in a healthy way. At the very least they need to join a support group.

I want him to stop. It takes up his whole life, and I have been with him for 3 years! What do I do? I can’t take it anymore. He chooses it over me. How do I tell him to stop or that he will lose me?

I agree, give him an ultimatum. I smoke, but I also go to college on the honor roll and work as a chef. People can be useful citizens and still smoke. He must learn and grow up like the rest of us. He needs to get his priorities straight.

but i ""FEAR"" so much that i just cannot do it…and this is just gonna be another failed attempt. I ve just started reading allen carrs easy way book….ive been smoking for 15yrs and im 35 now….i want the money for holidays, i wanna go to New York City again and buy shoes there….cos me and my hubby cannot afford it right now but if i stopped smoking we could, but its sooooo difficult.Has anybody out there got any great tips or great advice…to give???? thank you,,,,,, zoe

You already have the answer you are looking for. And you are correct about the fear being the reason you cannot quit. I quit after reading Allen Carr's book. In fact, about halfway through I never wanted to smoke again. It disgusted me that much that soon. But since I felt this book was going to help me and it told me to smoke until the end, I followed it's directions. And then when I got to the part that told me to smoke my last cigarette I thought "Finally!" and I was no longer afraid but excited! The only thing I can tell you is to finish the book. And good luck.

Oh I just wanted to add(so people won't think I was a light smoker that wasn't really addicted), I smoked from age 13 until I was almost 33. Was smoking nearly 2 packs a day at the end.

yea hoodia isn't a stimulant so therefore there is nothing in it that will counteract with taking the patch. If you feel like you don't want to take the pills anymore because you notice something irregular, then stop. But it can't harm you. Hoodia is natural and probably the safest dietary supplement out there. Is it effective, that I cannot tell you.
