I am 19 years of age. I have been smoking since I was 17. Not too long. But the most I’d ever smoke was a pack a day, but that is rare now. I only smoke either 5 to 10 or even less. It varies. Today I had 1. I am trying to quit. But there is one slight problem. It’s the only thing that makes me poop. Ever since I started at 16 to 17, I’d light up and bam! I gotta poop. Well I think it’s stimulated me so much every time I’ve smoked that it’s made my colon or bowels rely on it. Like it’ s natural. But when I do go it’s not a full; poop, it’s thin and sticky and you have to wipe a lot. This is the only way I can poop. But I want to quit. Please help. P.S. fiber doesn’t work. Tried it numerous times. Just makes it worse. I’m regularly eating healthy now too. Lots of veggies and fruits. My colon is starting to go down the shitter and I need help before it’s too late. Also I have no insurance and can’t see the doc. No money. I am getting ready to join the Air Force. I ship out on Tuesday. Would my best bet be to get through Basic and then have them take a look at me?
Yes, try to make it through basic without smoking (hard but you can do it). Then if your colon is not normal, go see the military doctor and they will treat your problem without charge.
It may take some time for your colon to return to normal. One word of warning — when you enter basic, most guys are not able to poop for the first two or three days. It's caused by stress and the change in routine (early to bed, early to rise and lots of exercise) and the fact the toilets may not have any privacy panels. Don't worry about this — after two or three days, most of the guys (including yourself) will probably be headed to the latrine to drop a load of poop. Just be prepared and know this is normal — and when you do go, be prepared for lots of other guys there causing the place to smell.

keep eating healthy and it should work out. It’s not like you won’t ever poop again. However, If you start feeling ill, then yes, the air force doctors will be your best bet.
Or eat some Chinese food for lunch and Mexican food for dinner. That should have you pooping all over the place
