It can. It provides nicotine, which can make you nauseous if you aren't used to it yet. If you smoke and are trying to quit, you might be using one that is too strong. If so, try cutting them in two with scissors and using only half of one (or go back to smoking and try to get up to 2 ppd, then start the patches again!)
If you don't smoke and are using them to help you start smoking, well, you are doing okay and the nausea will wear off once you get used to the nicotine.
