These clips are from the BBC: Horizon documentary series entitled “We Love Cigarettes”. The advice Allen Carr gives is pretty good, it convinced me (a 5 year smoker) to quit cold turkey. It has been a couple months now and I’m still going strong.
Update:
It has been over one year since my last cigarette and I have never been tempted to look back. I really hope this simple advice has helped someone else.

if you know so much …
if you know so much about smoking then you should also know why it is so hard to quit smoking
just imagine not being able to see or hear from a gf/bf for a whole year…the feeling of being down and groggy and not being able to hear her/his voice or see her/his face which you live for
being without that is what quitting smoking feels like

I have had several …
I have had several relatives who smoked. Well most of them had heart and lung disease from years of the habit. My grandmother died of lung cancer and my aunt just died recently of COPD!! It is polluting people’s bodies and the environment and even the innocent nonsmokers!! So I say it’s time to quit!!!!

alot easier said …
alot easier said than done, however this guy does make alot of spot on points. I think when he says that smokers only smoke to get the feeling of relaxation that non-smokers have all the time he makes a very compelling point. also the rolls royce and lawn bowling which i’m guessing was to show that your money can be spent elsewhere was a nice touch lol.

I reckon people …
I reckon people smoke to suppliment an image.
Whether its following in a family members image, or perhaps a movie/band icon. At the end if the day, it doesn’t make you look like these people, it gives your personality an image of its own, an image which is arguabley negative. What isn’t questionable is the health, financial and social affects. I’ve quit now, this minute. You guys do as you wish, but i’d recommmend quitting.

In 1980 I quit for over 20 years and have fallen off the wagon. Now I smoke than I did before and I can;t quit. I have quit trying to quit. I’m so disgusted with myself I feel like blowing my brains out. My poor wife is a changed person.

The hardest part is …
The hardest part is to avoid falling back in the trap, we quit every second we dont have a cigarette the secret is to prolong that time as long as possible, say I will have a smoke in 5 minutes and keep saying it when the time comes, eventually you will forget or find something else to do.
I was smoke free for 3 weeks then relapsed with 3 cigarettes today. =( Im so sad because now I have to start all over again.

this video and …
this video and others like it on you tube have kept me smoke free for the last 9 days, and that’s after smoking for 21 years! watch, listen and learn. i think that it really does increase stress by raising blood pressure and boredom by making us think that the only way to relieve boredom is by having another smoke, instead of doing something productive with our minds. my advice to you is to realize the horrors that come along with smoking. i don’t ever want to lug around an oxygen tank or worse.
